Do you LOVE astronauts and aliens?

We want to explore the solar system and find out about all the different planets. Are any other planets inhabited? Will you come on the space walk? We will be heading deep into outer-space! Your job as an astronaut is to write and report what you find…

With a specific focus on handwriting and coordination the children will be using the topic of ‘Space’ to learn about writing styles. An initial focus on expository writing to recall and relay information - they will be doing this by writing a packing list for an astronaut and directions for an alien. They will then look more at descriptive writing, using the five senses to describe a thing, person, situation in diary and letter writing. Finally they will write a narrative piece about a trip into space or an interaction with an extra terrestrial. They can choose their favourite piece to go on display.
